On June 15, 1667, Dr Jean-Baptiste Denys performed the first recorded blood transfusion.
He took 12 ounces of blood from a sheep and put it into a 15-yrar old boy. Sheep blood is not the same as human blood, so it was not helpful at all, but the boy survived.
