Steve Bush is the daily author, editor, and site administrator for Fact of the Day.CA.  Steve studies Marine Biology and likes squishy tidepool animals.  A native of San Diego, California, Steve moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2008.  He is rarely without one of his digital cameras, the Nikon Coolpix 2300 or the Nikon L18 (cheap and awesome cameras) and has taken 10,000+ pictures since the year 2003, so almost all of the Photo Fact pictures are his.  His fact of the day credentials include a lifetime of collecting unusual knowledge, professional experience in marine science education, and eight months of writing a "fact of the day" on his roommate’s whiteboard.

 

Jacq is a weekly contributor for Fact of the Day.CA’s Factoid Friday.  Jacq is from northern Onatrio, and is actually the only true Canadian out of all the authors.  She currently studies Marine Biology and Psychology in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with a goal of studying and training marine mammals.  Jacq has been learning about animals for as long as she can remember and is excited to bring you some of the things she has learned.  She thoroughly enjoys the outdoors, especially camping, as well as baking and other experimentation with food.  Music has been a large part of her life between singing and instruments; she played clarinet for 5 years, alto sax for 3 years, and has been teaching herself guitar.

 

Kimberly is an occasional weekly contributor for Fact of the Day.CA’s Trivia Tuesday. She is currently a student of Linguistics, which explains the heavy bias toward language related trivia. She has dabbled in enough academic fields (biology, art, art history, psychology, linguistics, in that order) to feel qualified for tidbits of weekly info. After years of spinning her wheels in personal blogging, she is glad to be contributing to a much more ambitious project. Similarly to Steve, she tries to have a camera close at hand to better practice her hand at photography. Otherwise, she enjoys a good book, and relating all things to Calvin and Hobbes, Scrubs, or Gilmore Girls.
